Baked Tortilla Chips
Tortilla chips are a delicious snack and the perfect side for tacos or a Meatless Mexican Lasagna. Though I've tried the store-bought baked kind, they were a bit bland for my tastes so I decided to give my own a try with some corn tortillas I needed to use up.
First I stacked 5 corn tortillas and cut them into quarters.
I laid the tortillas out on a foil lined pan, then sprinkled some salt, chili powder, and garlic powder over them for some flavor. Though I know you can spray some oil, I wanted to just try them with seasoning.
Next I baked them in the oven for 10 minutes, then shut off the oven and let them sit for 10 more minutes to get extra crispy.
The results were great--we had fresh, tasty, baked tortilla chips with the Mexican Lasagna I made. After the first 10 minutes I grabbed one to try and it was a bit chewy, so the extra 10 minutes really made the difference for getting this just right. Gotta love easy.
